Supporting Survivors of Gender Based Violence and Sexual Assault Project
SERVICES

This project provides information and access to legal and social work services to those who may be experiencing gender based violence or sexual assault. Confidential independent legal advice, social work support, and referrals are available.
The Supporting Survivors of Gender Based Violence and Sexual Assault project at Legal Assistance of Windsor offers:

Information on legal rights, options, and court systems in family, criminal, and other areas of law

Ongoing independent legal advice and advocacy

Information on and assistance in accessing social services
-
Counselling services and safety planning
-
Public legal education sessions on gender based violence and sexual assault
We also offer information sessions for agencies and service providers on legal obligations and responsibilities around gender based violence and sexual assault.
People of all genders who have experienced sexual assault or intimate partner violence (including physical, sexual, emotional or financial abuse) are able to access these services, regardless of their income.

GBVSA WORKSHOP

In March 2023, LAW's GBVSA program hosted Pam Cross, Canadian feminist lawyer and advocacy director of Luke's Place, who gave a presentation on "Gender Based Violence: What Family Lawyers Need to Know."
